The LBSA allows customers the entire month of February, May, August and November to make their payments without penalty. | |

A late charge of 1½ % per month will be added to your bill at the end of the grace period. | |

Advise your attorney before the closing that a sewer bill is due. He should then take care of this at the closing. Your attorney should also send the name of the new owner to the LBSA. | |

What exactly am I paying for when I pay my sewer bill? |
You are paying for domestic waste from your home to be delivered to the LBSA for proper treatment and disposal. | |
What portion of the sewer line am I responsible for? |
Customers are responsible for the portion of the sewer line or “lateral” from the residence to the curb. LBSA is responsible for the main and the lateral from the main to the curb line. See Rules and Regulations 7A.11. | |
I had a sewer blockage at my residence and called a plumber or private sewer cleaning service. They determined that the problem was LBSA’s responsibility and advised me to call your office. Will LBSA reimburse me? |
Customers are strongly encouraged to call LBSA first if you have a blockage or backup to determine responsibility. The LBSA will not be responsible for any fees incurred by the customer for any outside services performed on their property even if it is determined to be LBSA’s responsibility. | |
What do I do if I see a manhole overflowing? |
Customers should call 732-222-0500 from 8:00am to 12:00am 7 days a week, 365 days a year. After 12:00 am please call the Long Branch Police Dept. at 732-222-1000. The Police Dept. will contact LBSA personnel. | |
Am I allowed to discharge my sump pump into the LBSA sewer system? |
Sump Pump discharge is NOT allowed into the LBSA sewer system. See Rules and Regulations 7B.2. | |
