The Authority provides emergency service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Please contact us immediately if you believe that you have sewer problem such as a backup or stoppage at your residence or place of business. Please contact us if you should spot a manhole overflow. We will respond as soon as possible.

Between the hours of 8AM and 12AM, please call the plant directly at 732-222-0500.

Between the hours of 12AM and 8AM please notify the Long Branch Police Department at 732-222-1000. They will contact one of our on-call staff members to assist you.

LBSA and Customer Responsibilities For Your Information

Responsibility for the sewer line, or lateral, that brings waste from your home or business to LBSA’s sanitary sewer system is divided at the “Curb Line”. The Curb Line is usually located just inside your property line.

Maintenance and repair (including blockages) of the lateral extending from the Curb Line back to the home or business is the customer’s responsibility. The portion of the lateral extending from and including the curb line to the sewer main in the road is LBSA’s responsibility.

Customers are encouraged to call LBSA first if there is a problem to determine responsibility.
